Hiii Beautiful,
Can we have a real conversation for a minute?
lol...did you click that link? because I had to get that point across first and let you know. how I get down ..
Now.......
we all have noticed a shift in the beauty industry. as an "old skool" stylist, there are some practices in the beauty industry that is throw a side eye towards and that is....
Clients being asked to arrive:
-
Washed
-
Blow-dried
-
Detangled
-
Product-free
-
Hair stretched
-
Braided down
And while there's absolutely nothing wrong with stylists structuring their businesses in ways that work for them...
I have to admit:
I miss the full salon experience.
Maybe I'm just too old school.
But I still believe that when a woman walks into a salon, she deserves to feel cared for from beginning to end. She pays to for a service that she shouldn't have to prepare before she arrives.
What Happened?
Years ago, going to the salon was an experience.
You'd arrive.
Your stylist would shampoo your hair.
Condition it.
Wrap it.
Set it.
Style it.
You'd sit under the dryer talking, laughing, flipping through those Big Bad D magazines😆, and leaving feeling like the best version of yourself.
Somewhere along the way, things changed.
Suite culture expanded.
Social media exploded.
Stylists became educators, influencers, content creators, assistants, photographers, and business owners all at once.
Time became money.
And many professionals began requiring clients to arrive prepped and ready.
There's Nothing Wrong With That...
If that's what works for their business, I respect it.
Truly.
Every stylist gets to build a business that supports their lifestyle and goals.
But personally?
I still believe clients deserve a luxury experience.

Here's Why I Shampoo My Clients
I need to know that when my work goes out into the world...
it's representing me at its absolute best.
I use professional products that I've tested and trust.
I know how those products perform.
I know how they affect shine.
Movement.
Moisture.
Longevity.
If someone washes their hair at home using products that aren't compatible with the service they're receiving—whether that's heavy oils, excessive silicones, or even inexpensive shampoos that leave residue behind—it can impact the final result.
And that's not fair to the client because what if they don't know how to shampoo? Or buys some cheap azz shampoo....
No shade to anyone's favorite shampoo.
But if I'm creating a luxury experience...
I want the hair to shine.
Bounce.
Flow.
I want that client to leave my chair feeling absolutely stunning.
It's About More Than Hair
For many women, salon appointments are self-care.
They're a break from motherhood.
Caregiving.
Work.
Life.
Sometimes, it's the only hour or two they have all month that belongs entirely to them.
So yes...
I think having someone gently massage your scalp while shampooing your hair still matters.
I think being nurtured still matters.
I think slowing down still matters.
Imagine This...
Imagine going to a restaurant.
You order a beautiful meal.
Then the server says:
"Perfect. Just bring your own fork, plate, seasonings, and ketchup."
Technically...
You'd still get fed.
But something about the experience would feel incomplete.
That's how I feel about salon services.
The Salon Cass Experience
At Salon Cass, luxury isn't just about beautiful hair.
It's about how you feel.
It's about attention to detail.
It's about knowing that every product selected has a purpose.
It's about consistency.
It's about trust.
And yes...
Sometimes it's about laying back at the shampoo bowl and letting someone take care of you for a change.
Because beautiful hair is wonderful.
But being cared for?
That's unforgettable
